Brewers officially sign Brett Anderson to one-year deal

It’s official.

The Milwaukee Brewers are bringing back left-hander Brett Anderson on a one-year contract, the team announced Monday.

Anderson, who has also pitched for the Chicago Cubs, Colorado, the Los Angeles Dodgers, Oakland and Toronto, joined Milwaukee on a one-year deal last year. Anderson started 10 games for the Crew and allowed 22 earned runs in 47 IP (4.21 ERA). He fanned 32 batters and tallied a 6.1 K/9.

He owns a career record of 63-65, 4.06 ERA and 6.2 K/9 over 12 seasons in the big leagues.

Anderson joins Corbin Burnes, Adrian Houser, Eric Lauer, Josh Lindblom and Brandon Woodruff as candidates to be featured in Milwaukee’s starting rotation.

The Brewers open up their 2021 Cactus League schedule with a tilt against the Chicago White Sox on Sunday.
