Brewers recall Nottingham, option Wahl to alternate training site

The Milwaukee Brewers made a roster move Wednesday, recalling catcher Jacob Nottingham and optioning right-hander Bobby Wahl to the alternate training site.

During Milwaukee’s 8-6 loss to Pittsburgh on Tuesday night, Wahl allowed two runs on two hits in one inning of work. He’s allowed three runs on four hits in three appearances (2 1/3 innings) this season.

In 18 career MLB games, Nottingham is batting .231/.355/.385 with one double and one home run. He played nine games with the Brewers in 2019.

The 25-year-old registered a .231/.313/.355 slash line with 21 doubles and five dingers in 83 games with Triple-A San Antonio last season.

Nottingham is now one of three catchers on the Brewers roster, joining Manny Pina and Omar Narvaez.
