Bucks sign D.J. Augustin

D.J. Augustin is officially a member of the Milwaukee Bucks.

“D.J. brings a wealth of experience to our backcourt and will provide us with depth at guard,” Bucks General Manager Jon Horst said in a release. “D.J.’s proven to be a prolific shooter and an excellent ballhandler throughout his career and we’re thrilled to have him in Milwaukee.”

Augustin, a 6-foot point guard who played college hoops at the University of Texas, played last season with the Orlando Magic. He averaged 10.5 points and 4.6 assists per game during the 2019-20 campaign and shot 34.8% from beyond the arc. The 33-year-old former Longhorn spent three full seasons with Orlando before last year.

He was selected by the Charlotte Bobcats with the ninth overall pick of the 2008 NBA draft. Augustin went on the play for the Indiana Pacers, Toronto Raptors, Chicago Bulls, Detroit Pistons, Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets before joining the Magic in 2016.
