Purpose of the Role

  • Ingenico is currently hiring a Business Development Manager/Area Business Head role for Anglophone Africa (with primary focus on the Nigeria market).
  • The primary objective of this role is to produce new business sales revenue as well as manage & grow existing Ingenico Partners relationship. The Business Development Manager is accountable for managing all steps within the complex and consultative sales process, from (cold) lead generation to a signed legal agreement with partners, banks, telcos, and large merchant for a defined geography. The Business Development Manager has direct revenue and margin responsibility for the assigned region.

In order to support our continued growth, we are currently looking for a Business Development Manager/Area Business Head. Deliverables / Tasks:

  • Lead generation
  • Built multi-level decision making relationships with your prospects
  • Consistently deliver quarterly revenue towards targets set by sales management
  • Sell Ingenico ePayment’s services within assigned region and/or verticals
  • Negotiate complex commercial and contractual terms
  • Maximize growth and deliver additional revenue streams by up-selling new products and value added services
  • Responsible for all commercial activities including contract renewals, pricing negotiations and ultimately achieve revenue targets.
  • Create strategic business and quarterly account review plans to further enhance partner’s relationship and profitability.
  • Use data analysis to identify areas where Ingenico ePayments can drive the clients’ revenue growth.
  • Represent the organization at selected industry events.
  • Travel consistently (approx. 50%) in the region to conduct face to face meetings.
  • Project manage customers as they move through the sales cycle, with a strong focus on reducing time to market.
  • Manage expectations of clients and internal stakeholders through clear communication.
  • Reporting and forecasting to sales management.
  • Build out and maintain your pipeline and opportunities accurately in the CRM tool. (Salesforce.com)
  • Organize and manage sales event.

Background and Experience

  • Academic degree : Bachelor degree or Masters preferred
  • 10+ years proven new business sales track record in an international and quota carrying B2B sales role
  • B2B consultative sales experience is required
  • Exposure or familiarity with technological and financial concepts
  • Prior experience in the payments industry
  • Advanced verbal and written Business English language skills (Must)
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Preferably multi-lingual (additional language relevant in the region is a plus)
  • Advanced with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and the use of CRM tools/Salesforce
  • Candidates are expected to be conversant in payments and technology and have a solid understanding of the payment landscape
