Job Title: Coordinator – Measurement, Learning & Evaluation
Location: Kano
Department: Project Support Unit
Purpose of the position
- The Coordinator, Measurement, Learning and Evaluation (MLE) will support eHA’s Project Support Unit (PSU) predominantly by applying MLE knowledge, skills, and experience to support the design and implementation of MLE systems for eHA programs/projects.
What you’ll do
The Coordinator will support eHA’s PSU team predominantly by:
- Contributing to the design of new strategies, portfolio development, and cross-cutting data initiatives with a focus on coherent, integrated theories of change, measurable impact models, scaling, collaborations, and implementation plans to ensure long-term sustainability and impact.
- Supporting the collection and management of data for research, identifying relevance and applicability to team-specific MLE activities.
- Promoting effective knowledge management activities, including translation of research knowledge to practice environments, and other activities to promote the utility of research-generated knowledge.
- Participating in the design and implementation of program/project result based M&E systems to ensure program/project outcomes are measurable and tracked appropriately
- Contributing to the design of Theory of Change, results in framework, communication materials, and knowledge products related to the program/project and MLE System
- Working closely with program teams to ensure indicators are measurable and feasible
- Supporting the development and implementation of effective monitoring and reporting systems, tools and templates that systematically track activities and outputs, including training materials and integrating technologies as needed
- Support the development of new projects and proposals, in conjunction with the New Business Development team, to ensure standard practices
- Support program teams to measure, evaluate and actively monitor progress on key initiatives, as needed
- Conducting literature reviews and supporting manuscript development
- Facilitate study validation exercise
- Conduct monthly integrated supportive supervision
- Weekly update and maintenance of the project’s database
- Coordinate with state data stakeholders to ensure continuous buy-in
- Support the integration of project data into DHIS2
- Carrying out other duties and responsibilities related to MLE as assigned by the supervisor.
Job Requirements
Who you are
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience and/or coursework in designing, implementing or managing MLE systems or processes
- Past experience in the development sector/measurement and evaluation of programs is desirable.
- Experience working with regulatory/government affairs is highly desirable
- Experience in program design and MLE plan development
- Ability to design MLE tools, surveys, surveillance systems, and evaluations.
- Expertise in communications concepts, practices, strategies, and tactics based on an understanding of key audiences and objectives
- Excellent networking and relationship-building skills and the ability to interact with stakeholders and partners, both public and private
- Proactive, self-starter, and able to work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge on writing technical reports and manuscripts
- Has the capacity to conduct literature and desk reviews with minimal support
- Possess a high level of attention to detail
- Must be self-motivated
- Available to travel to deep field for project quality purposes
