Job Description
- Our Client in the Premium Real Estate sector requires the services of a Country Manager. Our ideal candidate is someone with Operations, Sales and Customer centric experience.
- The Country Manager will be responsible for strategic leadership and oversight of the company’s operation in the Nigeria office, including Sales Growth, Strategy Development, Customer Service quality, innovation and impact, human resource management, financial and organization’s assets stewardship, resource acquisition, and Administrative Operations.
- The Country Manager is expected to demonstrate progress in achieving the measures of the Country Goals and Objectives. She plays a leading role in managing the Real Estate Business and Investments in Nigeria and continuously evolving them to become relevant, more lucrative and Valuable, and innovative.
- She is accountable to ensure that its profile and reputation with stakeholders are strong and reflect organizational Values, Philosophy and Mission.
- The Country Manager is the representative connecting global priorities with country specific plans. She is expected to work in close consultation and coordination with regional and global teams to fulfil the responsibilities of the Country Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Ensure proper registration and compliance with statuary regulations related to real estate companies in Nigeria.
- Lead the development and execution of high-quality country strategic plan relevant to the local context and reflecting the global priorities
- Oversee the recruitment, orientation, and performance of Senior staff and development of middle management staff; demonstrating firm engagement, strong senior management teams, culture of innovation, and effective talent management.
- Strengthen the sustainability of programs and operations through vibrant resource development effort, striking healthy financial ratios, and effective budget administration.
- Oversee activities that lead up to sales, purchase, lease and development of real estate and other forms of property management.
- Carry out public speaking activities and representation of the company at various function, appearing in a professional manner.
- Lead and oversee the investment and management effort in the country ensuring long-term real estate portfolio is grown and achievement of annual targets.
- Oversee business development in the country; ensuring quality execution of strategy that integrates timely and quality completion of project management processes, adoption of quality standards and guidelines, and efficient use of global and regional resources.
- Provide strategic guide to scouting and identify potential clients with the needs for property management.
- Implement comprehensive business plans, plan cost-effective operations and market development activities.
- Oversee and incentivize the evolution and innovation in Real Estate sector and their delivery models.
- Ensure the organization is recognized by stakeholders (relevant government authorities, donors, other NGOs, media etc) as a strong real estate and investment organization and credible reference point.
- Foster and manage strong relationships and collaboration with other locations.
- Create initiatives to take advantage and control of market opportunities, reduce operational threats and forestall business risk, and maximize core business strengths.
- Ensure optimal financial, human and physical resource allocation and management and quality standards for successful implementation of the country’s and organization’s strategic plan and mission and to monitor and report on their progress.
- Supervise the work of team leads, providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance, ensure performance appraisal, training and professional development activities. Reward performance, prevent organizational issues and resolves problems that may arise.
- Ensure proper use of the company resources in pursuit of quality projects and ensure that adequate internal control is in place to protect the company financial and non-monetary assets and that they are used in accordance with organizational policies.
- Lead the development of a strategy and plans and provide oversight to strengthen and evolve strong partnerships across the region.
- Manage other roles, responsibilities and assignment as directed by the board and employer.
Qualifications / Experience
- Minimum 10 years’ work experience with understanding of Real Estate Investment, Sales and operationsin Nigeria
- Proven track record of strong management skills with complex projects and a large number of staff.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills in English.
- Ability to develop a business by attracting local and international resources and building leads
- Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and cross-cultural skills including the ability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally with sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, social and political issues.
- Ability to pragmatically solve problems, plan a course of action using analytical, conceptual, strategic and forward-thinking abilities to achieve an effective resolution.
- Demonstrated technical expertise in such areas as: project, budget and resource management.
- Strong leadership skills in such areas as: fostering teamwork; developing and motivating others; managing change; conflict resolution; initiative and flexibility.
- Strong visioning, strategic planning, implementation ability and effective under pressure, results oriented and proactive with the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to demonstrate support for innovation and organizational changes needed to improve the organization’s effectiveness; helping others to successfully manage organizational change.
- Ability to recognize, react and adjust to rapidly changing conditions and to lead the resources in appropriate direction with cohesiveness and a sense of urgency
- Fluency in English; and ability to communicate in any major local language is highly advantageous.
- Persons with past banking and other financial institution experience are encouraged to apply.
Other Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree from a recognized tertiary institution of Learning
- Masters Degree would have a preference
- Membership and Certification with a recognized institute is also an advantage
- Extensive experience in Leading teams and units or similar experience as a country manager
- Minimum mid-level management experience is compulsory
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to excel in high pressure situations
- Excellent organization and leadership skills
- Highly computer literate
