End of Baylor-TCU elimination game postponed due to weather
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Inclement weather has pushed the conclusion of the Baylor–TCU Big 12 Tournament game to Saturday morning after a delay of just over an hour on Friday night.
A statement from the conference cited “unplayable field conditions.” No. 6 seed TCU led No. 2 seed Baylor 5-2 heading into the top of the eighth inning of their elimination game.
The winner will play No. 3 seed Oklahoma State in the semifinals on Saturday and will have to defeat the Cowboys twice to reach the championship game on Sunday.
On Friday, TCU scored the game’s first three runs in the top of the third inning. Hunter Wolfe got it started with an RBI triple. The Horned Frogs increased their lead to 5-1 on an RBI single by Josh Watson that scored Wolfe in the seventh inning.
Baylor’s Josh Bissonette hit a solo homer in the seventh, right before the weather delay.
