Flynn, Wetzell lead No. 7 San Diego State past Fresno State
FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — Malachi Flynn scored 20 points, Yanni Wetzell added 17 and No. 7 San Diego State remained undefeated with a 64-55 victory over Fresno State on Tuesday night.
The Aztecs (18-0, 7-0 Mountain West Conference) are one of two unbeaten teams left in Division 1, along with Auburn. They extended their nation-best win streak to 18 games, including a nation-best nine straight wins on the road.
Fresno State (5-12, 1-5) led 21-19 with 5:32 left in the first half, but went scoreless the rest of the half as the Aztecs built a 26-21 lead.
Flynn scored six of San Diego State’s first 11 points in the second half, building a 37-27 advantage. His steal and layup with 4:16 remaining in the game capped a 7-0 run in a 51-second span to give the Aztecs a decisive 54-41 lead.
Freshman forward Orlando Robinson led the Bulldogs with 18 points.

San Diego State: The Aztecs led the entire second half, avoiding an upset loss to the seventh-place Bulldogs, who had won seven of the previous 10 games in the series, including four of the past five at the Save Mart Center. The victory gave San Diego State the series sweep and extended its conference lead to two games over New Mexico and UNLV.
Fresno State: The Bulldogs dropped to 1-5 in conference play for the first time since the 2012-13 season. The Bulldogs welcomed junior starters Nate Grimes (wrist) and Noah Blackwell (knee) back to the lineup, with limited results. The juniors combined for six points in 49 minutes.

Fresno State: At Wyoming on Saturday. Wyoming remains winless in conference play after Tuesday’s 68-67 loss at Nevada.
