FOX Sports Southeast’s first-half coverage of Charlotte Hornets basketball slated to begin Dec. 23
CHARLOTTE – FOX Sports Southeast, exclusive regional broadcaster of the Charlotte Hornets, will televise all Hornets games for the First Half of the 2020-21 NBA season. The telecasts will be anchored by the network’s flagship pre- and postgame show, Hornets LIVE, delivering expert analysis before and after each game.
Coverage will tip with the Hornets’ season opener on Wednesday, Dec. 23, versus the Cleveland Cavaliers, with a bonus one-hour edition of Hornets LIVE at 6 p.m. ET.
FOX Sports Southeast’s broadcast team will continue to deliver in-depth Hornets coverage, featuring play-by-play announcer Eric Collins, returning for his sixth season. He will be joined by analyst and Hornets’ legend Dell Curry, who will return for his 12th season, and Ashley ShahAhmadi in her third season as sideline reporter.
Hornets LIVE will be hosted by ShahAhmadi, alongside former Hornets first round draft pick Gerald Henderson in his second season.
Prior to the season opener, FOX Sports Southeast will also televise four preseason games, giving fans the opportunity to see the Hornets on the court for the first time since March 11:
- Toronto Raptors vs Charlotte Hornets on Saturday, December 12 at 7:00 p.m. ET
- Toronto Raptors vs Charlotte Hornets on Monday, December 14 at 7:00 p.m. ET
- Charlotte Hornets vs Orlando Magic on Thursday, December 17 at 7:00 p.m. ET
- Charlotte Hornets vs Orlando Magic on Saturday, December 19 at 7:00 p.m. ET
Telecasts for the 2020-21 season will exist in an environment like none other in NBA history with little-to-no fans in the stands. In addition, there will be broad changes to production elements and protocols due to the global pandemic. Each production will be a multi-network effort to deliver quality games with FOX Sports Southeast shooting all Hornets home games on the network and taking the home team’s network feed for road games. Our broadcasts for both home and road games will emanate from our broadcast areas at Spectrum Center.
The NBA regular season will feature a 72-game regular season schedule and a Play-In Tournament to determine the teams that will fill the seventh and eighth playoff seeds in each conference.
