Gophers beat Ohio State 2-0, LaFontaine earns first career shutout
The Minnesota Golden Gophers are now 4-0 after defeating the Ohio State Buckeyes 2-0 on Tuesday night.
Goalie Jack LaFontaine earned his first career shutout and it came at the right time since the Buckeyes held the Gophers to a 1-0 advantage until the third period.

Minnesota’s Scott Reedy got the Gophers on the board early by scoring with 18:07 left in the first period.
Minnesota and Ohio State remained scoreless until the third period, although the Buckeyes had a chance to score midway through the second but LaFontaine made a great save to maintain the Gophers’ lead.

Minnesota extended its lead to 2-0 when Ben Meyers found Nathan Burke in front of the net and Burke scored.
The Gophers will be back in action on Dec. 3 for the first game of a two-game road series against the Michigan State Spartans.
