Seth Green, a former four-star quarterback recruit who ended up seeing most of his time at Minnesota in a wildcat formation, announced Friday that he is entering the transfer portal.

The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Green was listed as a tight end by Minnesota but found himself often behind center of the “Green line,” the Gophers’ version of the wildcat offense.
His role in the offense, however, decreased over time. After rushing the ball 76 ties for 282 yards and eight touchdowns in 2018 as a sophomore, Green had 22 rushes for 99 yards and five TDs in 2019 and just nine carries for seven yards and two TDs this past season in seven games.
More Gophers coverage
In his four years, Green finished with as many receptions – six – as he had completed passes. He leaves having accumulated 114 rushes for 388 yards with 15 TDs, six catches for 83 yards and 6-for-7 passing for 57 yards with three touchdowns and one interception in 33 games.
An Academic All-Big Ten member in 2020, Green will have one year left of eligibility.
