Green Bay Packers predictions: Week 16 vs. Titans

Barry Wilner of the Associated Press: Packers 26, Titans 24. “Lambeau in January? The Packers are having sweet dreams of staying home for the playoffs.”

Pete Prisco of CBSSports.com: Packers 37, Titans 27. “This will be the running game of the Titans against the passing game of the Packers. Aaron Rodgers was just OK last week, but I think he will bounce back with a big game against a bad Titans defense. Derrick Henry will get his for the Titans, but they won’t keep up. The Packers will lock up the top seed.”

Packers Coverage

NFL.com’s Gregg Rosenthal: Packers 33, Titans 31. “The Packers are 1-2 against teams currently with winning records, which is a weirdly small sample size. The Titans are 3-3 in such games and often part of the biggest NFL game of the week. In a matchup that is likely to include a ton of points and MVP moments for Aaron Rodgers, I like the Packers’ pass rushers and physical cornerbacks to make a few more plays than the inert Titans defense.”

John Breech of CBSSports.com: Titans 37, Packers 34. “Instead of a snowball, imagine getting hit by a plow truck, which is basically what everyone on the Packers defense is going to feel like they’re being hit by every time they try to tackle Derrick Henry. Not helping things for the Packers here is the fact that they’re giving up 4.5 yards per carry on the ground this season. When you’re surrendering 4.5 yards per carry and the guy you’re facing is averaging 5.2 yards per carry, that seems like a problem.”

Vinnie Iyer of the Sporting News: Packers 31, Titans 27. “The Titans will be trying to run all over the Packers with Derrick Henry and use Ryan Tannehill and the passing game effectively again playing off that. The Packers’ goal with Aaron Rodgers will be passing aggressively to build a big lead against a defense with a limited pass rush and weak coverage to limit Henry from being the same kind of big factor with negative game script. Matt LaFleur used to work for Mike Vrabel, but he won’t hold back with the slightly more explosive offense.”

The Miami Herald’s Greg Cote: Packers 38, Titans 31. “More GOTW quality in this Sunday prime-timer, with both teams hot ‘n rolling. Gee Bees clinch first-round bye with a win, if Seattle loses. Tennessee clinches playoffs with a win, and division title with a win if Indy loses. Titans are only fifth team ever to have 30-plus points and 420-plus yards in five straight games, but GB is as good on the scoring end and better on D. The question: Which opponent will do better job in limiting Aaron Rodgers and Derrick Henry? Sticking with Pack at Lambeau on a 6-0 run in prime time.”

Bill Bender of the Sporting News: Packers 35, Titans 32. “The Packers are inching closer toward home-field advantage, but the Titans bring the league’s highest-scoring offense to Lambeau Field. Derrick Henry will have a big game, but so will Aaron Rodgers. The Titans allow 276 passing yards per game. It adds up to a thriller in a coin-flip game, but we’ll stick with the home team in a nail-biter.”

Jordan Dajani of CBSSports.com: Titans 26, Packers 24.

Philly Voice’s Jimmy Kempski: Titans.

Josh Schrock of NBC Sports Bay Area: Packers 31, Titans 27.

Pro Football Talk’s Michael David Smith and Mike Florio: MDS: Titans 24, Packers 23. Florio: Titans 30, Packers 26.

Oliver Hodgkinson of Pro Football Network: Packers 31, Titans 30.

Sportsnaut’s Vincent Frank: Packers 35, Titans 31. “The one glaring issue for Mike Vrabel’s Titans has been on the defensive side of the ball. This unit is giving up 25.8 points per game and has recorded a league-low 14 sacks. That’s not a recipe for success against a Packers quarterback in Aaron Rodgers who has thrown 40 touchdowns against four interceptions and has been sacked a mere 18 times.”
