Gunnarsson expected to make season debut in Blues’ home opener
Veteran defenseman Carl Gunnarsson is expected to make his season debut when the St. Louis Blues host the San Jose Sharks in their home opener Monday night.
Gunnarsson, a healthy scratch in the Blues’ first two games, would take the spot alongside Vince Dunn that had been occupied by Robert Bortuzzo before he sustained a blow to the head in Friday’s 8-0 loss in Colorado. Bortuzzo was placed on injured reserve.
Blues coach Craig Berube also is juggling his forward lines for the home opener.
