Job Title: Head of QHSE & Facilities

Description
- Daystar Power Group is looking to engage a competent and experienced Head of QHSE & Facilities (Quality, Health, Safety and Environment), who will foster a safety culture and performance in the workplace by educating and ensuring QHSE compliance in accordance with internal and external demands.

Key Responsibilities
- Establishing, implementing, and maintaining processes required for QHSE Management systems and drive QHSE initiatives and inculcate a positive safety culture within the company.
- Ensuring that the QHSE Management System is established implemented and maintained in accordance with ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO 14001.
- Ensuring that all process owners, supervisors, and managers develop and maintain their part of the Quality Management System.
- Facilitating preparation of work procedures, processes, and flow charts in coordination with the concerned departments.
- Managing the Internal Quality Audit (IQA) and HSE Audit activities in the company to ensure that QHSE management system is uniformly implemented across the organization.
- Generating statistical reports in Quality and HSE for management review.
- Communicating information and improvement on the QHSE Management System throughout the organization and promote QHSE awareness.
- Liaising with external/internal parties on matters relating to the QHSE Management System.
- Ensuring all HSE incidents reported by the staff are properly investigated and corrective/preventive actions are established and implemented.
- Maintaining QHSE training records and ensure common QHSE training standards are implemented throughout the area (i.e. QHSE specific training, management system training, individual safety certification training).
- Ensuring common work standards / policies are complied with throughout the area (i.e. working at heights, electrical safety standards, etc.).
- Supervise and coordinates the work of contractors to ensure QHSE compliance
- Oversee the management of facilities including the building management and repairs, plumbing systems, Utilities, facility cleanliness, maintenance of furniture and fittings.
- Manages preventive and corrective maintenance and repair work on the mechanical and electrical systems of the facility
- Coordinates allocation and furnishing of office space.
- Supervise and review the performance of outsourced property managers and suppliers.
- Responsible for ensuring that all statutory obligations to the local, state, and federal government of all the facilities are in order.
- Ensures the provision of a safe and conducive working environment.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, or its equivalent with additional professional qualifications in QHSE, Facilities and Fire & Safety Management Systems.
- Experience:
- At least 8 years of experience, with 5 years in QHSE at managerial level.
- Experience in successful implementation of ISO 9001, QHSAS 18001 or ISO 14001 requirement in at least one organization or others relevant to the power sector.
- Working knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems, Environmental Discharges, Incident Command System, Incident Investigation Tool, HSE Auditing Techniques.
- Relevant Industrial and Management Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, etc.
- Language Proficiency: English.
- Character:
- Self-motivated and demonstrate a sense of ownership with high level of commitment and the ability to thrive under pressure.
- Passionate about health, safety and the environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to lead and work well in teams.
- Discretion in dealing with sensitive information.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel and prioritize competing demands, passion for renewable energy.
- Must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint in particular)
