Job Description

  • Our client is recruiting for the role of Head of Sales to increase the customer base and also establish a strong presence for the company’s products.
  • The role holder will lead the sales department and be responsible for designing and managing the implementation of the strategic sales plan for the company. This would include product activation, merchandising, overseeing sales distribution channels, coordinating sales promotional activities, among others.

Role Specification

  • Develop and execute strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand the customer base.
  • Observe local and national trends in the market.
  • Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations.
  • Train and supervise a team of sales managers and representatives to ensure a unified sales forecast.
  • Oversee the evaluation of market research and implementation of approved adjustment to sales strategy.
  • Track sales goals and work with team members who need help reaching these goals.
  • Develop sales and distribution policies that reflect organization’s goals.
  • Investigate factors impacting sales performance.
  • Estimate sales volume and profit for current and new products.
  • Monitor changes in the industry and leverage them for business opportunities.
  • Oversee the evaluation of market research and implementation of approved adjustment to sales strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Monitor competitor products, sales, and marketing activities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
  • Guide preparation of sales activity reports and present to executive management.
  • Build strategic relationships and partner with key industry players, agencies, and vendors.

Person Specification

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or a related field from any recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role preferably in the Educational Technology sector.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Demonstratable experience with product launches.
  • Sales & Activations.
  • Procurement Management.
  • Proven professional history of achieving impressive sales results.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive professional relationships.
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
