How NFL draft affected Packers’ 2019 opponents
Washington Redskins, Dec. 8
Like the Giants, Washington went with a quarterback in the first round. Except the Redskins have a more logical opening at QB than New York (was anyone really inspired by Case Keenum or Colt McCoy)? The opinions on Haskins from draft experts varied, but we should know a lot more about his NFL game come December. Washington also took a big swing by drafting edge rusher Montez Sweat, yet another player sometimes mocked to the Packers, who should add another pass-rusher to complement with veteran Ryan Kerrigan. There’s a chance that fourth-round pick Bryce Love could be ready to play by the Green Bay game as well. Washington, which needs a lot of help coming off a mediocre 2018, likely hopes so, at least.
