Imo Polls: APC Candidate, Hope Uzodinma Rejects Governorship Result, Heads For Court
The Imo governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Hope Uzodinma, has rejected the election results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state.
Uzodinma alleged that there was some form of injustice done in the results that produced the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Emeka Ihedioha, as the winner of the governorship election.
The APC governorship candidate vowed to challenge the INECs declaration in court.
Addressing party supporters at the party’s secretariat in Owerri the Imo state capital, he alleged that the election was marred with widespread irregularities.

He accused INEC in the state of compromising in the execution of their duty. Alleging that the electoral umpire conspired with the PDP candidate to ‘rig’ the election.
Uzodinma urged his supporters to remain calm and remain hopeful.
“Those who were manipulating argued that it will be suspicious if the APC candidate that they knew clearly will win this election is not even second position.
“They claimed that they have to fix my name in the list to disallow me from going to court. I have heard all that, but injustice done to one man is injustice done to all of us. I will leave no stone unturned.
“We are going to challenge the result. We will be very resilient. We will address it and God willing, justice will be done,” he said.
The senator also dismissed rumours that he has congratulated Ihedioha on his emergence as the governor-elect of the state.
