INEC Official Kidnapped In Cross River Regains Freedom

An official of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) who was kidnapped during Saturday’s re-run for Yakurr/Abi Federal and State constituencies in Cross River State, has regained his freedom.
This was confirmed in a statement by the Cross-River State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Alalibo Johnson.

According to him, however, the supervisory presiding officer was released without some of the sensitive and non-sensitive election materials, as well as his personal items.
Meanwhile, Johnson also added that apart from a policeman that sustained injuries, no life was lost.
