Jacob outduels Outar as FIU routs Florida Memorial 99-74
MIAMI (AP) — Trejon Jacob scored a career-high 39 points to help lift Florida International to a 99-74 win over Florida Memorial on Thursday.
Jacob hit 17 of 20 shots, including 4 of 6 from behind the arc. Eric Lovett had 17 points for FIU (8-3), which earned its fifth straight win overall and ninth at home dating to last season. Blake Furcron added 11 points.
FIU entered ranked first nationally in blocked shots (73) and blocked shots per game (7.3).
Omar Outar led the Lions with 30 points. Jordan Martin had 17 points and Cheikh Kebe added 14 points.
FIU faces Stetson on the road on Sunday.
