Kogi Deputy Governor Alleges Threat To His Life
The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Simon Achuba, has raised an alarm of an alleged plot to kill him.
Mr Achuba who addressed reporters in Lokoja, the state capital on Thursday claimed that some gunmen after him were linked to his principal, Governor Yahaya Bello.
He criticised the administration of Governor Bello for non-performance and accused his principal of intolerance of contrary views.

According to the deputy governor, this is the reason for the rift between him and the governor.
“The rift between me and the governor is nothing less than the issue of performance,” he said.
Mr Achuba added, “The second thing is the issue of salaries. In fact, it got to a point that he was convinced that civil servants are insignificant, which made me rise up one day to say something that was very annoying to that person.
“What is important in leadership is dialogue. When you throw dialogue away, you throw persuasion away, and you engage in a fight with those that you are supposed to work with.”
The deputy governor insisted that the present administration in the state has not performed while salaries were owed civil servants even with the bailout from the Federal Government.
He, therefore, called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Adamu, to note in case anything happens to him.
