Lagos Withdraws Charges Against Naira Marley, Gbadamosi

The Lagos State Government has withdrawn charges brought against a politician and former governorship aspirant in the state, Babatunde Gbadamosi and popular musician, Azeez Fashola, also known as Naira Marley.

Gbadamosi alongside his wife and Naira Marley were charged before the Lagos State Magistrates’ Court in Ogba for attending a birthday party hosted by Funke Akindele and her hubby, JJC Skillz in violation of the government’s lockdown order as part of measures to check the spread of coronavirus.

At the end of the proceedings on Wednesday, one of the defence counsel, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa (SAN) told journalists that the judge withdrew the four counts filed against the three defendants.

He said the state withdrew the charges on the condition that the defendants would tender an apology to President Muhammadu Buhari and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
