Maeda worked three innings and allowed no runs on one hit while fanning four batters. The 32-year-old now has seven strikeouts in five innings this spring.
The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the seventh. Twins second baseman Jorge Polanco notched a one-out single to center field to get things started. Five pitches later, first baseman Miguel Sano roped a double down the left-field line to scored Drew Maggi — who was pinch-running for Polanco — from first base for the game’s only run.
