Description
- Coordinate competition intelligence monitoring and escalations on price floor contravention and non-compliance to industry practices.
- Monitor and analyze market insights and trends for inputs into new acquisition offers.
- Formulate consumer marketing strategies and initiatives that will ensure relevant brand positioning and broadened brand appeal to the mass market segment
- Conduct research on the market and customers, analyze data/market trends, and use key findings, conclusions and indicated actions from the qualitative/quantitative consumer and customer research to provide recommendations to drive business performance and stay ahead of competition
- Review market and internal conditions and contribute to the development of marketing strategies and ensure segment marketing strategies are based on clear value proposition that is aligned to MTN value proposition.
- Evaluate new opportunities for expansion and revenue growth and develop creative and innovative approaches to drive sustainable growth in the mass market space.
- Continuously identify, review, and monitor demographic profiles of the mass market segment
- Provide delivery and performance tracking support to the department and management.
- Identify opportunities and leverage MTN and mass market segment value propositions to take advantage of such opportunities.
- Manage and contribute to the development of communication to drive understanding of value proposition and achieve business objectives.
- Initiate relevant advertising/communication concepts in support of the mass market brand building initiatives.
- Create sustainable, profitable, market volume and value growth for MTN Nigeria through the mass market segment.
- Manage mass market product lifecycle, number management, mass market specific brands and communication, and consumer promos.
- Review performance of individual team members and complete appraisals in accordance with the employee performance appraisal procedures and time schedules.
Education
- First Degree in Marketing, Social Sciences, or related discipline.
Experience:
6 – 13 years experience which includes:
- 3 years experience in an area of specialization and managing products.
- Experience in Marketing within telecoms or FMCG.
- Experience in working on web and mobile platforms.
- A good understanding of systems, networks and mobile applications.
- Hands-on product management/development experience, including defining, launching, and optimizing product and services.
- Experience in building differentiated customer value propositions and product value proposition.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
