Job Purpose
- The Incumbent supports the role of the CEO by being responsible for the day to day operating activity from sales growth through to solution defining and implementation of service.
- He is responsible for the entire back office operations and gives direction and leadership towards achievement of organizational technical strategy and goals
Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Insight and Integration:
- Develop technical aspects of the company’s strategy to ensure alignment with its business goals.
- Discover and implement new technologies that yield competitive advantage
- Assist the organization use technology profitably.
- Supervise network infrastructure to ensure functionality and efficiency.
- Build quality assurance in all Technical operations / executions and data protection processes.
- Effective team supervision to ensure activities integrate with Organizational requirement and strategy at the desired performance level.
- Work with HR to ensure employee development and motivation amongst teams
- Ensure an effective succession planning in the various teams to develop the company’s next set of leaders.
Technical / Analysis and Problem Solving:
- Facilitate the resolution of major operational issues within departments and take charge of high priority client cases or major incidents.
- Lead the network planning, and expansion to ensure achievement of triple 9 service level rating (99.9%).
- Establish, publish and monitor the standards for technical operation that apply to the business.
- Develop and ensure implementation of customer focused engagement models that reduce Churn year on year.
- Direct short-term and long-range planning, budget development and resource allocation to support strategic business goals.
- Establish the performance goals, allocate resources, and policies for the various teams
- Maintain an effective team spirit and culture amongst the teams
- Liaise with external network providers to ensure that eStream obtains excellent service for its clients.
- Monitor KPIs and IT budgets to assess technological performance
- Use stakeholders’ feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology
- Communicate technology strategy to partners and investors
Leadership:
- Provides leadership for Technical department functions, and accountable for the network Infrastructure management for the company.
- Provide strong leadership in strict compliance to process, standards and procedures.
- Maintain the departmental vision in line with corporate goals
- Lead and motivate team member(s), promote discretional behaviours among employees and encourage them to deliver quality results.
Interpersonal, Relationship Management & Collaboration:
- Constantly liaise with team and all stakeholders to ensure network stability and customer satisfaction
- Highly resourceful in getting strategic information via a wide network of contacts.
Communication:
- Collation of all network performance data and reporting on a weekly/monthly/quarterly and annual basis to Management team and Board members.
Customer Focus:
- Maintain constant communication with the Management, customer, and supplier. Identify potential issues, and drive appropriate solutions.
- Work with employees, customers and Suppliers face-to-face or via telephone, attending and meetings.
Financial Management:
- Reduce revenue losses through surcharge and churn.
- Adhere to and manage the approved budget.

Requirement
Education & Work Experience:
- A University degree in Electrical, Telecommunications/Computer Science/Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Telecoms / ICT industry with at least 5 in Management position
- Proven experience in network Infrastructure general management or a Master’s in Business Management & Administration or SMPT.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution in the Telecommunications and ICT Industry
- Relevant professional qualification will be an added advantage.
- A professional qualification in project management will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management preferably in the Telecoms and ICT industry.
Certifications:
- Relevant certifications on Networking on CCNP, CCIE, Mikrotick, CWNA
Competency & Skills:
- Proven experience in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures and policy development.
- Proven knowledge or experience on MPLS network, Microwave, VSAT and Fiber technologies.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data and manage resources.
- Knowledge of project Management principles, practices and techniques.
- Ability to motivate and manage teams
