Marc Marquez crashes out of MotoGP in Austin
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Marc Marquez’s undefeated run at the MotoGP Grand Prix of the Americas ended Sunday when he crashed out of the race with 11 laps to go.
Marquez was way out in front and in complete control while heading for his seventh consecutive win at the Circuit of the Americas when he fell on the turn out of the track’s long straight. He tried to get back on his motorcycle and restart, but couldn’t. He gave up and fell off and onto his back and had to be driven back to his garage.
Marquez started the race leading the season championship. He has won five of the last six titles.
No other rider had won at the Teas track since it opened in 2013.
