Description
- The Market Launcher is one of the most exciting roles at Lalamove. There is no such thing as a typical day as our Expansion Managers handle everything from hiring to after order support and everything in between
- You will be responsible for executing our market launch strategy, implementing our operations framework, and hiring the local team
- You will be accountable to bring the local performance up to speed by engaging demand and supply in many ways.
- A launcher is close to an entrepreneur role, which is why we are looking for well-rounded individuals who are energetic and comfortable in new environments, disciplined and self-motivated, result focus and go-getter, fast learner, humble, and with a strong bias towards execution.
What you’ll do
- Validate local expansion opportunities through quantitative and qualitative research, establish product-market fit, shape positioning and messaging, provide insights for product development.
- Business Planning: Create a comprehensive project plan to launch new cities within the target launch time frame and within budget with the aim to be able to execute the launch. Enter the new market and set up operations, build supply, business development and strategic partnerships and media outreach.
- Collaborate & Lead: As part of the expansion team, you will be in a special department within the company; working independently in new cities, while collaborating cross-functionally with our Operations, Marketing, People Operations, and Finance teams to drive market entry and strategic initiatives
- Hire and train the local teams: Work closely with the People Ops team to recruit, on-board and train a team of passionate people across all verticals.
- Strategize & Plan: Identify and validate business opportunities, build and execute launch/landing plans, measure and adjust product/market fit.
- Consolidate leanings and report your recommendation to Lalamove leadership team.

What you’ll Need
- Minimum of 3 years work experience accumulated from a Consulting / O2O business or Logistics / Supply Chain operations background
- Academic Degree in Finance or / and Supply Chain
- Good understanding of standard legal incorporation schemes and compliance preferred
- Strong record of achievement and personal growth
- Fluency in English
- Ability to travel for extensive periods in different countries
- Prior experience in on-demand, sharing economy business models, retail operations is an advantage.

- As part of the expansion team, you will be in a special task force within the company; dropped into new cities to work independently, while coordinating with the rest of the expansion team to ensure the right selection of cities and launch strategy and to achieve project objectives.

The Market Launcher role is part of an ‘expansion graduate program’ as follows:
- 6-12 weeks on-the-ground training in one of our operating market
- 4-6 weeks market research in a new geographical area
- 6-12 weeks new market launch support
After passing the three steps above, you will become an independent market launcher
Perspectives for this role are to become managing director for a new market, or to head regional expansion.
