Mason Crosby among three Packers players put on reserve/COVID-19 list
The Green Bay Packers placed three players on the reserve/COVID-19 list on Thursday.
Kicker Mason Crosby, tight end Jace Sternberger and defensive end Treyvon Hester are the first three Packers players to be put on COVID-19 list, a new roster designation put in place by the NFL for the 2020 season.

This news comes shortly after wide receiver Devin Funchess announced Tuesday he was opting out of the 2020 season due to coronavirus concerns.
Crosby will begin his 14th season with the Packers this fall. In 2019, the 35-year-old nailed 22 of 24 field-goal attempts and converted on 40 of 41 extra-point attempts. A third-round pick by Green Bay in 2019, Sternberger appeared in six games and caught three passes for 15 yards and a touchdown, all coming in the postseason. Hester is entering his fourth NFL season after spending time with Oakland, Philadelphia and Washington from 2017-19. He signed with the Packers as a free agent.
Green Bay also announced Thursday it claimed John Lovett off waivers from Kansas City after the Chiefs released him Wednesday. Lovett, an undrafted signee of the Chiefs in 2019, played quarterback at Princeton but is listed as a fullback or running back in the NFL.
The reserve list was created by the NFL for a player who either tests positive for COVID-19 or who has been quarantined after having been in close contact with an infected person or persons. Clubs are not permitted to disclose whether player is in quarantine or is positive for COVID-19.
