Mitch Garver goes off again for shorthanded Twins

The bad news has been piling up for the Twins over the past few days, but Garver has responded with a heaping helping of #GarvSauce. He homered twice Saturday in a win over Cleveland, then hit another Sunday in the series finale. He went off again Tuesday just hours after the Twins announced that Byron Buxton is done for the season, hitting a two-run homer and powering Minnesota to a 5-0 win over the Washington Nationals. Garver’s home run against the Nationals was his 30th of the season, giving the Twins’ three 30-home run hitters on the season. Garver has done it in just 83 games, and is currently averaging a home run every 9.33 at-bats. For context, AL home runs leader Mike Trout is at 10.44.
