Mizzou pauses hoops activities, postpones Saturday’s game vs. LSU
The Missouri Tigers‘ best basketball season in years has been put on hold, courtesy of COVID-19.
All team activities for the No. 13 Tigers have been paused as a result of a positive test and subsequent contact tracing within the Mizzou program, the school announced Friday.
Saturday’s home game against LSU has been postponed. A decision on next week’s games against Vanderbilt (Jan. 12) and at Texas A&M (Jan. 16) has not been made.
“This continues to be a challenging time across the college basketball landscape, and it is important that we prioritize the health and safety of our student-athletes, first and foremost,” coach Cuonzo Martin said. “In laying out the schedule, the SEC has allowed for a week at the end of the season for the possibility that games would be canceled, and we look forward to hosting LSU at a later date. Once we can return to competition safely, we will do so.”
