Mizzou’s Dru Smith, Tilmon make coaches, AP All-SEC teams
Missouri seniors Dru Smith and Jeremiah Tilmon Jr. were both named to a pair of All-Southeastern Conference teams Tuesday.
SEC coaches voted Smith to the All-SEC first team and Tilmon to the second team. Smith also was named to the coaches’ all-defensive team. The Associated Press named both players to its All-SEC second team.
Smith and Tilmon are the first pair of Tigers to earn All-SEC honors in the same season since Jabari Brown and Jordan Clarkson in 2014. Smith is Mizzou’s first first-team pick since Kassius Robertson in 2018.
Smith averaged 2.1 steals per game to lead the SEC in that category for the second consecutive season. He also ranked third in assists (4.2 average), 13th in scoring (14.8), fourth in free throw percentage (.839) and third in assist-to-turnover ratio.
Tilmon averaged 12.5 points, 7.4 rebounds (fourth in the SEC) and 1.4 blocks (seventh) this season while shooting 63.5% from the field, the 17th-highest single-season percentage in league history. He led the league in double-doubles with seven.
