Nate Reuvers joins Badgers 1,000-point club

Reuvers joined an exclusive club of Badgers on Tuesday when he recorded his 1,000th career point. He’s the 47th player in program history to reach the milestone, and the first since teammate D’Mitrik Trice last season. Reuvers scored his 1,000th point in his 112th career game with Wisconsin.

Bobby Portis, Bucks forward (⬆️ UP)

Portis tied a season high with 21 points on 9-for-13 shooting against Portland on Monday night. Portis also nailed a trio of 3s for the first time in a Bucks uniform and added eight rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block against the Trail Blazers. Through 20 games, Portis leads the Bucks in offensive rebounds per game (2.1) and in field-goal percentage (56%) among players with 25+ attempts from the field.

Brewers chances in NL Central (⬇️ DOWN)

It had been a quiet offseason in the National League Central division … until the Cardinals traded for five-time All-Star third baseman Nolan Arenado on Monday night. Arenado mashed 37+ homers for the Rockies from 2015-19 and owns a career .358/.427/.701 slash line with 10 dingers in 34 games against Milwaukee. Gulp.

Badgers men’s hockey (⬆️ UP)

Wisconsin is rolling. The 11th-ranked Badgers crushed Michigan State on back-to-back nights, topping the Spartans 6-0 on Friday and 4-1 on Saturday. Two of their players earned Big Ten honors, as forward Cole Caufield was named the conference’s first star of the week and sophomore Dylan Holloway collected the second star. Caufield is riding a 10-game point streak and has scored a goal in five straight contests (we went deeper into his hot streak here). Holloway, who claimed his first career Big Ten nod, is on a six-game point streak himself. He tallied four points Friday (two goals, two assists) and another pair of points Saturday (two assists).

Jonathan Davis, Badgers guard (⬆️ UP)

The La Crosse, Wis., native went off for a career-high 17 points in the Badgers’ 72-56 win over Penn State on Tuesday night. Davis had never taken more than two 3-point attempts in a game, but he jacked up four against the Nittany Lions, draining all four. He scored those 17 points in just 18 minutes. Now that’s efficiency.
