No. 4 Gophers outlast Badgers 6-4 in Big Ten championship
Blake McLaughlin scored twice in the No. 4 Minnesota Golden Gophers 6-4 win over the Wisconsin Badgers in the Big Ten men’s hockey tournament championship.
McLaughlin scored his first goal with 9:28 left in the first period.

Minnesota exploded for four goals in the second period. Mike Koster, Sampo Ranta, Scott Reedy and Jaxon Nelson all found the back of the net.
Wisconsin added one goal in the frame but the Gophers still led 5-1 entering the final 20 minutes.

After the Badgers scored three times in the third, McLaughlin got an empty netter with 24.1 seconds to go that iced the game for Minnesota.
