Pacers fall short in second half, lose 113-107 to 76ers
In their final preseason game, the Indiana Pacers and Philadelphia 76ers played a physical four quarters, but Philadelphia’s deep bench proved too much to handle in a 113-107 win over Indiana.
The Pacers (0-3) went into the locker room with a 59-51 lead, but the 76ers (2-0) came roaring back in the second half, outscoring Indiana 33-24 in the third quarter.
Philadelphia had 17 players record minutes and five players record double-digit points.
Shake Milton led the 76ers with 15 points. Dwight Howard and Furkan Korkmaz each contributed 14 points for the 76ers. Star center Joel Embiid did not play due to a non-COVID related illness.
For the Pacers, Domantas Sabonis led with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Malcolm Brogdon scored 21 points and Victor Oladipo added 20 points. Cassius Stanley, the Pacers’ 2020 second overall pick, contributed 12 points and seven rebounds. Myles Turner did not dress for the game after being placed in concussion protocol.
The Pacers tip-off the regular season Wednesday, December 23 against the New York Knicks.
