Pacers forward T.J. Warren to miss rest of 2020-21 season with foot injury

The Indiana Pacers were dealt a major blow on Thursday, announcing that forward T.J. Warren will miss the rest of the 2020-21 season as he continues to recover from a foot injury.

Warren, 27, underwent surgery in January to repair a small navicular stress fracture in his left foot. He played in just four games before going down, averaging 15.5 points per contest.

Warren was stellar in his first season with Indiana in 2019-20, leading the team with 19.8 points per game while averaging 4.2 rebounds and 1.5 assists. He was particularly impressive when the NBA season restarted inside the bubble in Orlando, Florida in August, averaging 31.0 points and 6.3 rebounds over six regular-season games, then 20.0 points and 6.3 rebounds during the Pacers’ four-game playoff series with the Miami Heat.

Justin Holiday has been the Pacers’ primary starter at small forward in Warren’s absence, with Doug McDermott also seeing expanded playing time at the position.
