Pacers’ Sabonis wins NBA All-Star Skills Challenge
Indiana Pacers forward Domantas Sabonis is making the most of his late invitation to the NBA All-Star Game.
Sabonis, who was named an All-Star after Kevin Durant dropped out of the event due to injury, won the All-Star Skills Challenge on Sunday night, defeating Orlando Magic center Nikola Vucevic in the final.
Sabonis handily defeated New York Knicks forward Julius Randle in the first round, hitting a 3-pointer to advance to the second round before Randle even attempted a shot. He easily beat Mavericks guard Luka Doncic as well, clinching a spot in the final against Vucevic.
In the last round, Sabonis and Vucevic both had trouble hitting the final 3-point shot. After missing his first three attempts from beyond the arc, Sabonis connected on his fourth try to clinch the Skills Challenge victory.

Sabonis has a history of success in the event, reaching the final last year before losing to Miami’s Bam Adebayo.
