Paddack, Padres continue Spring Training success
The San Diego Padres continued their Cactus League success Wednesday beating the Los Angeles Angels 9-3. Pitching prospect Chris Paddack dazzled once again, tossing four innings allowing one run and striking out six batters. His case becoming Opening Day starter only improves with each outing.
San Diego’s offensive output was spearheaded by catcher Austin Hedges’ multi-home run game. He hit a 2-run shot to dead center field in the top of the fourth and complimented that with a 3-run blast the next inning. Right fielder Franmil Reyes was 2-for-4 with 2-run home run of his own.
The Padres will return to Spring Training action at 6:40 pm PDT March 14 in a split squad game against the Los Angeles Dodgers in Peoria, AZ.
