Paris Fashion Week: Highlights from the latest menswear shows

Written by Fiona Sinclair Scott, CNNAllyssia Alleyne, CNNA global roster of fashion designers are put to the test once again at an entirely virtual Paris Fashion Week. After almost a year of upheaval due to the global health crisis, fashion houses have become well accustomed to showcasing their latest designs digitally via pre-filmed videos and livestreamed virtual shows. But they also know that, if they want to capture the attention of viewers at home (it’s been a long time since buyers and editors were the only ones watching) will require innovative solutions.JW Anderson’s AW21 menswear collection is designed by Jonathan Anderson, styled by Benjamin Bruno and shot by Juergen Teller. After sending out boxed-up cut-outs of fabrics and photos to show his collections last year, Jonathan Anderson, creative director and founder of JW Anderson, has now collaborated with photographer Juergen Teller on a series of irreverent posters showing his men’s collection and upcoming pre-fall women’s collection. Louis Vuitton artistic director Virgil Abloh enlisted Saul Williams and Yasiin Bey (the artist formerly known as Mos Def) to perform in his airport lounge-like runway, dressed in the latest collection. On Friday, Dior showcased a new collection inspired by traditional ceremonial wear. In keeping with a running tradition of artist collaborations, artistic director of menswear Kim Jones chose to work with celebrated Scottish artist Peter Doig, who lives and works between Trinidad and London. Doig’s landscapes were transposed onto garments throughout the collection adding a certain painterly romance to the designs. Jones has worked with a number of artists before including KAWS and more recently Amoako Boafo. Watch all the latest shows below. Day 1Day 2Day 3Day 4 Day 5Day 6
