We are a Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company with depots across the country. Due to rapid expansion and growth, we urgently need smart and resourceful individuals to join our team in the capacity below:
Job Title: Plant Human Resources Manager
Location: Nigeria
Key Responsibilities
The appointee will amongst other things:
- Lead HR in the factory to contribute to the achievement of the Company’s strategic objectives.
- Co-ordinate employee and labour relations, helping HR Managers and the leadership team of the factory to build and maintain effective relationships with the unions and workers In partnership with the Senior Managers and HR Managers in the factory, build a culture of discipline and engaged workforce
- Ensure support to the HR and Administration team to continuously reinforce the health and safety culture in the factory
- Ensure the rollout of HR programmes and policies in the factory and monitor effectiveness of same
- Act as an advocate of the company’s values and culture to create a best-in-class work environment in the factory
- Participate in projects focused on continuous Improvement in the factory
- Handle complaints, managing grievance procedures and facilitating counseling in the factory In conjunction with other stakeholders
- Investigate and resolve industrial relations issues in the factory in a timely and effective manner
- Collate and analyse employee feedback across all levels on a regular basis and revising people programmes and policies to generate more positive outcomes.
Requirements
- At least a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management or a relevant field
- At least 15 years working experience in HR in a Unionised Environment in the Food and Beverage industry. 10 of these years should be at Senior Management level
- Relevant certification (e.g. CIPM, SPHR) is a plus Experience in planning and implementing effective HR strategies
- Experience with ERP software (e.g. SAGEX3) and MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Sound knowledge of all HR processes (e.g. Industrial Relations, Performance Management Recruitment etc.)
- Sound knowledge of Nigerian labour laws and regulation
- Excellent leadership and management qualities
- Strong verbal as well as non-verbal communication skills
- Exceptional time-management and organisational skills Experience in driving change management programmes at various levels, from hourly employees to senior leaders
- Strong experience in dealing with unions Strong problem-solving, negotiation & influencing skills.
