Police Arrest Child Trafficking Suspects, Fake SARS Operatives
The Lagos State Police command says it has arrested two suspected child traffickers.
In a statement by its spokesman, DSP Bala Elkana, the Police states that on the 31st of October, acting on information from a credible source, detectives from Ojo Division led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Abdullah Malah, apprehended one Chukwunonso Blessing ‘f’ 30yrs of No 23 Masebinu Street, Igbede, Ojo.
The Police spokesman says she was seen along Alaba International Market with two children namely Joshua James ‘m’ 6yrs and Samuel Gbawune ‘m’ 3yrs trying to board a vehicle to Onitsha, Anambra State.
He adds that upon questioning, she claimed that the boys were adopted by her husband one Chukwunoso Happiness ‘m’ 40yrs from a Motherless Baby home in Jos, Plateau State and brought to Lagos. That she was taking them to Onitsha to meet her husband.

DSP Elkana further stated that on the 1st of November, the said husband was also arrested by the Police.
According to the police spokesperson, the suspect confessed to have bought the kids at the sum of N140,000 from one Mama Oyoo ‘f’ of Jos township.
Mr Elkana notes that the kids were recovered adding that efforts are being made to identify their parents and reunite them.
The Command called on Motor Park Operators, Unions and well meaning Nigerians to keep an eye on passengers with kids that appear in Suspicious manner.
Similarly, the command says it arrested some fake SARS Operatives within the metropolis.
Command spokesman, DSP Bala Elkana, says they were arrested on 29th of October 2019.
Mr Elkana states that Operatives from Ifako Division led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Lasisi Iyunade accosted to men dressed in black T-Shirts with the inscription SARS boldly written along Julius Kadri Street ifako, Gbagada.
“They claimed to be SARS Operatives, on their way to effect an arrest at Bakare Daudu market. On further questioning, they claimed to be members of Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) from Victoria island Lagos,” Mr Elkana said.
He adds that their names are Ikechukwu Victor ‘m’ 45yrs and Emeka Ewuzien ‘m’ 45yrs of No 2 Igi Street, Bariga and No 30 Okuta road, Leadlac, Bariga respectively.
Two fake PCRC ID card bearing same name was also recovered from them and the suspects were charged to Court and remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Home.
