Police Arrest Five Suspects Over Female Underwear Theft

The Lagos State Police Command says it has arrested five persons for their involvement in the theft of female underwear in the Ojo area of the state.

According to a statement on Sunday by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Bala Elkana, operatives from the Ojo Police Station made the arrest acting on credible information.

A teenager identified as Chukwajekwu Eziigbo was said to have been arrested on Friday last week for stealing female underwear from clotheslines.

“The suspect confessed that for one year now, he has been stealing female underwear from different houses in Ojo and environs,” the statement said.

Elkana explained that the suspect admitted that he usually hand over the stolen underwear to four women between the age of 17 and 26 for payment.

The other suspects are Chidima Obietuake, Chikwaka Jemfe, Gold Enyinnaya, and Akomas Amarachi.

“The suspects have been arrested and they confessed to the commission of the crime,” the statement added.

The security operatives recovered some stolen items from the suspects while Elkana noted that they would be charged to court.
