Police Begin Search For Kidnapped Taraba Lawmaker Bashir Mohammed
The Taraba State Police Command has confirmed and commenced the search for the kidnapped member of the State House of Assembly, Bashir Mohammed.
The lawmaker who is representing Nguroje constituency of Sardauna Local Government Area (LGA) was picked up from his residence behind Dr. Jalo Eid prayer ground in Jalingo at about 1:45 am on Wednesday.
Confirming the incident to newsmen in Jalingo, the Police Public Relations Officer, David Misal disclosed that at about 1:00 AM, they received a distress call which prompted them to swiftly respond, but on reaching his residence, he was already whisked away.
Misal explained that the Commissioner of Police has directed operatives of the command to go after the kidnappers and ensure the lawmaker is rescued hale and hearty.

He assured members of the public that any confidential information given to them will be treated as such.
The command PRO added that it is not in the interest of the victim to start telling the public if there was a contact or not, on-demand for ransom by the abductors, insisting that the command is very much concern about rescuing the victim.
