Police Confirm Attack On Rivers Community, Pledges To Punish Perpetrators – Channels Television
The Rivers Police Command has confirmed a cult related attack in Baarni Community, Khanna Local Government Area of Rivers State, where seven persons were reportedly killed, pledging to punish the perpetrators.
Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Nnamdi Omoni, while confirming the attack noted that no official report was made.
According to him, the police heard of the attack and stormed the community, but the men were surprised to find that the corpses had been taken away, with the families refusing to make any comments on the matter.

The police also said that its command is aware of a similar attack in Emohua Local Government Area, where five persons were reported to have died but unable to verify or confirm the incident.
He noted that investigations are currently ongoing to get to the bottom of the attack with a view to bringing the hoodlums to book.
The command PRO hinted that the command has broken the ranks of the cult groups in the state and many of the perpetrators are currently on the run.
