Police Rescue Eight Kidnap Victims In Kaduna
The Police in Zamfara State have rescued eight persons who were kidnapped in Birnin Gwari area of Kaduna State.
According to a statement by the spokesperson of the command, Mohammed Shehu, those abducted include men, women and children and they were held captive for over four months.
They were eventually rescued following efforts by a team of peace and reconciliation committee members which included the governor’s Security Adviser, Abubakar Dauran and National Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Muhammadu Ardon Zuru led by the state Commissioner of Police Usman Nagogo.
Subsequently, they were handed over to the Zamfara State Governor Mohammed Bello at the Government House, in Gusau, after which they reunited with their families.
The CP assured the public of the commitment of the police towards bringing lasting peace in the state and environs.
This comes just days after 51 captives were rescued by the police.
