Ranking Minnesota Twins’ nicknames for Players Weekend
Mauer did many things well over his career, but Players Weekend was not one of them. For the final two seasons of his career, Mauer used the, uh, nickname “Mauer” on the back of his jersey during Players Weekend. The following players apparently wanted to pay tribute to the Twins legend: Jason Castro (STRO), C.J. Cron (CRONY), Kyle Gibson (GIBBY), Ryne Harper (HARP) and Jake Odorizzi (ODO). We’re not mad, just disappointed.
