Bolton White Hotel is a leading hospitality company located in the the heartland of Nigeria, approximately 30 minutes’ drive from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International airport, about 5 minutes drive from the international Conference Center/ National Assembly complex and the Federal Secretariat. The hotel has 176 comfortable and stylish luxury bedrooms, en-suite self-catering rooms, great cooling system in all rooms, writing desk and satellite TV, tea/coffee making facilities, direct-detail telephone/modern and Wi-Fi. Non-smoking rooms available on request.
It has various conference and banqueting facilities available with seating capacity from 160 to 200 for conference and banqueting. Each venue is air conditioned, with standard audio visual equipment, available on request.

Job Title: Receptionist / Guest Service Agent

Position Summary
- Represents thehotelto theguestthroughout all stages of the guest’s stay. Determinate’s a guest’sreservation statusand identifies how long the guest will stay.
- Helps guests completeregistration cardsand then assigns rooms, accommodating special requests whenever possible.
- Verifies the guest’s method of payment and follows established credit-checking procedures. Places guest and room information in the appropriate front desk racks andcommunicatesthis information to the appropriate hotel personnel.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Registerguests and assigns rooms. Accommodates special requests whenever possible.
- Assists in pre-registrationand blocking of rooms forreservations.
- Thoroughly understand and adheres to propercredit, check- cashing, and cash handling policies and procedures.
- Understandsroom statusand roomstatustracking.
- Knows room locations, types of rooms available, androom rates.
- Must be sales-minded. Presents options and alternatives to guests and offers assistance in making choices.
- Usessuggestive sellingtechniques to sell rooms and to promote other services of the hotel.
- Knows the location and types of available rooms as well as the activities and services of the property.
- Coordinates room status updates with thehousekeepingdepartment by notification housekeeping of all checkouts, late checkouts,early check-ins, special requests, andday userooms.
- Process guestcheck-outs.
- Performingcashierrelatedfunctionslikepostingchargesto guestaccounts, raising paid out’s, currency exchange,
- Follows procedures forissuingand closing safe deposit boxes used by guests.
- Works closely with thehousekeeping departmentin the keeping room status reports up to date and coordinates requests for maintenance and repair work.
- Uses proper telephone etiquette.
- Performs cashiering tasks likebill/invoicesettlement, posting charges to the guest, paid out’s, Foreign currency exchange etc.
- Inform guest of the room safe andmini-barkey and room key procedures.
- Direct Bell Person toescortguest and transport their luggage to the room.
- Reads and initials the pass-on log and bulletin board daily. Is aware of daily activities and meetings taking place in the hotel.
- Reports any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager or assistant manager.
- Knows allsafetyand emergency procedures, Is aware ofaccidentprevention policies.
- Maintains the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area.
- Understand that business demands sometimes make it necessary to move employees from their accustomed shift to other shifts.
Prerequisites
- Education: Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Hospitality Management or other related fields.
- Experience: Previous hotel-related experience desired.
- 1 – 5 years work experience.
