Royals agree to terms with Singer, four others for 2021 season
Five more down, five to go.
The Kansas City Royals have agreed to terms with shortstop Lucius Fox and pitchers Richard Lovelady, Brady Singer, Josh Staumont and Daniel Tillo for this season, the team announced Thursday. That leaves five players still unsigned for 2021.
Singer, 24, is expected to be in Kansas City’s rotation this season after going 4-5 with a 4.06 ERA in 12 starts as a rookie in 2020. The right-hander took a no-hitter into the eighth inning and finished with eight shutout innings in a September win over Cleveland, then pitched six shutout innings in his next start, a win over Detroit. Baseball America named Singer to its All-Rookie team.
Staumont and Lovelady pitched for the Royals in 2019 and 2020, while Tillo and Fox have yet to make their major league debuts.
