SLU’s Goodwin wins Atlantic 10 Player of the Week
Saint Louis Billikens guard Jordan Goodwin has been one of the most impressive players in college basketball to begin the 2020-21 season, and he earned acclaim for his strong performance on Monday.
The Atlantic 10 Conference announced that Goodwin has been named the men’s basketball Player of Week for the period of Dec. 21-27. Against Kansas City on Dec. 23, Goodwin recorded his seventh double-double of the season with a 23-point, 13-rebound outing. He led the Billikens to a 62-46 victory over the Roos.
Over eight games, Goodwin is averaging 16.9 ppg and a league-leading 11.1 rebounds per game. He has seven double-doubles, tied for the most in the NCAA by a player this season. Goodwin is also averaging 3.8 assists and 2.1 steals per game.
Goodwin helped the Billikens to a 7-1 non-conference record, SLU’s best mark in non-conference play since the 1993-94 squad went 14-0 during that portion of the schedule.
