Snow warning: No fans at Pacers-Bulls game tonight
The Indianapolis Department of Public Works issued travel restrictions Monday because of expected heavy snowfall, prompting the Indiana Pacers to decide to play Monday night’s game against the Bulls without fans.
Significant snow accumulation is expected Monday night into Tuesday. The Indy DPW’s travel restrictions begin at 5 p.m. Monday and specify that only “absolutely necessary” travel is allowed to enable the city’s plows to clear entire roadways.
“Our first priority is the safety of both Indianapolis motorists and our Snow Force plow drivers,” said Dan Parker, Indy DPW director. “Fewer cars on the roadways means fewer opportunities for accidents and more opportunities for better, more efficient removal of snow, starting with center travel lanes and moving outward to exterior lanes and turn lanes with each pass of a snow plow.”
Refunds will be available to fans with tickets to the game.
