Chemical and Allied Products Plc, a subsidiary of UAC of Nigeria Plc, is the technological licensee of AkzoNobel for Nigeria; (ICI was acquired in 2008 by AkzoNobel, the world’s largest paint producer). CAP Plc evolved from the world-renowned British multinational Imperial Chemical Industries Plc, which formalized its Nigeria operations in 1957 under ICI Exports Limited. In 1965, ICI Exports Limited changed its name to ICI Nigeria Limited and in 1968 it subsumed the paints company.

Job Title: Solvent Based Chemist
Location: Ikeja Lagos,

Job Description
- Develop customized colours for solvent-based products as requested by customers
- Visits customers’ sites as assigned for professional evaluation of projects and provides technical support for the resolution of identified issues
- Anticipates, recognizes and resolves technical issues which arise during solvent-based product formulation development, evaluating alternatives and initiates corrective actions through research and well formulated, logical experimentation
- Carries out research to identify new technologies in solvent-based line to optimize the production of the company’s solvent-based products
- Prepare solvent-based product test specifications.
Requirements
- Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree qualification with 3 – 5 years work experience.

- Excellent written documentation and presentation skills
