St. Louis CITY seeking fan to represent team in eMLS
St. Louis CITY SC, our town’s new MLS franchise, won’t begin play at its new downtown stadium until 2023. But it will be in action in 2021, eSports style, and a fan could become a player.
St. Louis CITY will participate in eMLS, Major League Soccer’s competitive EA Sports FIFA League, for the 2021 season, and the search is on for a “homegrown player” to represent CITY as its official eMLS player for next season.
The club will host virtual scouting tournaments on Nov. 7 and 8. Contestants must live within a 125-mile radius of the St. Louis CITY stadium district in Downtown West and be over 18 years old.
Winners of the two tournaments will win club swag and have a chance to represent CITY in eMLS.
“CITY fans have been searching for ways to get more involved with the club, and eMLS is such an invigorating opportunity to do just that,” said Khalia Collier, the club’s vice president of community relations. “St. Louis has been growing into one of the nation’s next video game development and eSports hotspots, and I’m confident that passionate community will translate over to eMLS.”
